Dear President an dear Colleagues,

I send you below the link of a very interesting article on a proposal sent to the government by our Spanish colleague, Carlos Rus, President of ASPE, meant to ensure the viability of the private health sector in Spain.

https://www.redaccionmedica.com/secciones/privada/coronavirus-sanidad-privada-pide-que-se-financie-el-75-de-su-facturacion-9701

The Spanish Private Health Alliance (ASPE) has proposed to the Government  a package of economic-financial measures to make health establishments viable under the current circumstances. Under the State of Emergency the Spanish Government, like in many other Member States, has ordered the deprogramming of all non-urgent-elective healthcare activity making the resources of the sector available to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Private establishments remain in operation but without main income activity, which can have repercussions on their present and future sustainability in many cases. Given this situation, ASPE has asked the Government through the Ministry of Industry for urgent measures to be able to face the enormous waste in resources.

I congratulate ASPE for this initiative which, in my opinion, is an example to follow and APHP is preparing a similar request to send to the Ministry of Economy.

Best regards
